Trashcans Removed at Lynn Newbry Park Due to Presence of Bear

Notice from Public Works Department

Due to the presence of a bear along the Bear Creek Greenway, the Public Works Department of the City of Talent has removed all trashcans from Lynn Newbry Park to encourage the bear to move on from the park.

Residents are encouraged to be mindful of the type of waste put into public trashcans at city parks. Please do not dispose of food waste into trash cans, including those still in use at Chuck Roberts Park and Karmerin Springs Park.

The City of Talent has notified the local Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) Office. If you see the bear, they ask you to please report it to (541) 826-8774.  Report the location you saw it, the time, and the behavior it was exhibiting.  If the bear is acting aggressive call 911 for emergency response.  Do NOT approach the bear or attempt to move it along.  Any additional questions/concerns can be directed to the ODFW.
